Backtagging: Go forth, because I guarantee you I will backtag you sooner or later.
Threadjacking: I love this so go forth as well.
Fourthwalling: I don't think you'd be able to explain it to her in a way she'd understand, so I don't see the problem with trying.
Offensive/Sensitive subjects: I don't have any triggers and I have very few squicks. As long as whatever sensitive subject you intend to involve her in is handled sensibly I'll probably be fine with it. If in doubt, you can just ask.

Hugging this character: No one's really...done that...before. But Aeris wouldn't be opposed. She'd probably like it.
Kissing this character: You can, but depending on circumstances and how you do it you may not like her reaction.
Flirting with this character: You may as well, because she's going to be flirting with you.
Fighting with this character: She's not all that easy to provoke unless you're certain people, but if you're determined to you can get beat up by fight the flower girl if you like.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): You can probably do this as long as you don't try to injure her too badly. She's only human.
Killing this character: Case-by-case basis, ask first.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Telepathy is kind of her element. She's used a form of it to communicate with the Planet from birth, pretty much. She'll be happy to carry on a conversation with you if you go in there, but you're also not likely to get much out of her unless you've got a powerful mind.

Further, on the question of whether or not Aeris knew when or even if Zack died pre-Gongaga, I choose to interpret the end scene of Crisis Core to mean that she sensed 'something' terrible happen but not what. This is using the theory that without help from another Cetra or Cetra blood himself a person can't manifest separately once they're taken into and fully absorbed by the Lifestream.

Aeris thus continues to believe he simply left her until Gongaga, when Zack's parents make it obvious he must have been killed and she runs out of the house to deal with her emotions on the matter. This reaction indicates she really did believe he'd found a pretty girl and ran off with them, rather than knowing that he died and pretending otherwise; retconning her knowledge would tamper with subtleties in her personality due to words and actions she makes pre-Gongaga.)
